I have inherited these documents from three of Elizabeth Ridings' grandchildren: my grandmother and her younger brother and sister. They are, presumably, the documents they felt were worth saving.

A whole season for diarrhoea! That description of mutton broth and straining off fat is enough to give anyone diarrhoea.
They had a diarrhoea season in those days? I guess with the expansion of the football and cricket seasons people just don't have as much time to play diarrhoea as they did before.
